American Patchwork Quartet brings folk, jazz, and Hindustani classical together, reimagining songs like “The Wayfaring Stranger” and “Oh Shenandoah” through traditions from three continents. Founded by Clay Ross, a two-time Grammy winner with Ranky Tanky, the quartet features Ross on guitar, Falu Shah on vocals, Clarence Penn on drums, and Yasushi Nakamura on bass. Their self-titled debut was nominated for Best Folk Album at the 67th Grammys, and they made their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2024.
Fabiola Méndez brings the Puerto Rican cuatro to the stage. She was the first graduate in Berklee’s history to play it as her principal instrument and has performed at the Met, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Her album Flora Campesina blends Puerto Rican folk with jazz and Afro-Caribbean grooves.
