About
As part of Snowbird's commitment to Play Forever, the resort is teaming up with our guests to support local non-profits on select Wednesdays throughout the season.
Snowbird will donate $5 for each ticket sold to the Play Forever Wednesday grant recipient of the week, with each organization receiving at least $2,000. Guests will have the option to donate an additional amount. Play Forever Wednesdays lift tickets can be purchased online or in person at Ticket Offices located at the Snowbird Center and The Cliff Lodge.
This season, Snowbird's Play Forever Wednesdays grant recipients exemplify the following Play Forever goals:
- Investing in Local Relief: Provide localized aid to the Salt Lake and Utah County communities in times of need.
- Access and Participation: Support diversity, equity and inclusivity within the outdoor community with an emphasis on mountain recreation accessibility.
- Action to Protect the Environment: Support organizations that are focused on protecting the environment through sustainability, education and action.
Non-Profit of the Week: Wasatch Backcountry Rescue
Play Forever Goal: Investing in Local Relief
Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) is a 501c3 non-profit organization working in the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of the five Wasatch front County Sheriff's Search and Rescue divisions. Counties include Salt Lake, Summit, Weber, Wasatch and Utah County. WBR has the highest level of standards for its members and has been instrumental in bringing innovative rescue technologies to both the national and international scenes.
WBR's primary purpose is rapid response for avalanche rescue, winter-related mountain rescue and medical evacuation incidents using trained professionals and search & rescue dogs. WBR personnel are full-time avalanche professionals from member organizations who are familiar with local terrain, snowpack and current conditions. This makes WBR the resource of choice for initial response to winter accidents in the Wasatch range's vast and heavily used backcountry.
