Visit our Create Space and drop in between 6-8 pm to learn about tufting and see a live demonstration. Learn about a new service coming soon to our DIY space — tufting! View examples made in the space and find out how you can make your own rugs and wall hangings at the library.

Tufting is the process of passing yarn through a fabric backing (monks cloth) to create textile art, most commonly rugs and wall hangings. A tufting gun uses a mechanical needle to punch yarn through stretched backing fabric. The machine then trims the yarn as it is inserted with mechanical scissors, allowing makers to create textured designs quickly.
