Discover bold texture and dynamic surface design in Pottery Decorations: Sodium Silicate, an exciting workshop exploring the transformative effects of sodium silicate, heat, and colored slip on clay. Students will learn how to manipulate the clay surface to create crackled, layered, and richly textured finishes that bring energy and movement to their work.
This workshop is designed for those with a basic foundation in pottery, including the ability to throw simple forms on the wheel. During class, students will throw their own pots and apply sodium silicate techniques to create one-of-a-kind decorative surfaces. All materials will be provided.
This special session also serves as a fundraiser for our studio instructor, Randee, who has been accepted into a Master’s program in ceramics. $50 from each ticket will go directly toward her tuition. Join us to expand your skills while supporting a valued member of our studio community.
