About
The Balloons & Tunes Roundup is an annual event in Kanab, Utah, bringing together around 40 hot air balloon pilots for a weekend of festivities from February 19-21, 2027.
Morning hot air balloon launches (weather permitting) each day at 7:30 a.m. at 755 Fairway Drive (the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course).
Weekend activities include:
- Vendor fairs on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at W 100 N Main Street
- Live music performances both days, with extended hours into the evening
- Friday night Lantern Launch Festival at 7 p.m. (weather permitting)
- Saturday night Balloon Glow at Center Street/HWY 89 at 7 p.m. (weather permitting), followed by a wrap-up concert
Volunteers are invited to help as balloon crew, with a 7:00 a.m. pilot briefing each morning and various setup and recovery tasks.
Lanterns from the festival can be returned for $1 each at the Kane County Treasurer's Office.
Drones are not allowed in launch areas except in designated zones.
Applications for 2027 participation are open July 1 through September 30, 2026.
Balloon sponsorships are available for $1,500, which include a balloon ride for two (weather permitting), swag, and more.
The event is designed for hot air balloon enthusiasts and families, with activities and entertainment across three days, regardless of weather.
