Miners Day is an annual celebration of Park City's heritage, held on September 7. The event is family-friendly and open to all ages.
Activities include:
- The Running of the Balls: spectators gather on historic Main Street to watch golf balls race down a track. Balls can be purchased to participate; proceeds benefit local community organizations.
- Mining Competitions: such as the Mucking and Drilling Competition, showcasing the skills of modern-day miners and honoring the area's silver mining legacy. Registration to compete is available.
- The Miners Day Parade: a tradition since 1896. Attendees can watch or march in the parade.
- The Bark City 5K Run: kicks off in City Park and welcomes runners (and their dogs). Proceeds benefit animal rescue organizations.
- Free Breakfast in City Park: provided by Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Donations are welcome.
- Festivities in City Park: live music, food trucks, a Beer Garden, Kids Games, and other activities to wrap up summer.
Some activities, such as competitions and races, require registration. Participation in the Running of the Balls involves purchasing golf balls. The event focuses on community, fun, and Park City's mining history.
