Country Ramble

Like one of his French friends has said about Morgan Snow, he is "so American." He grew up in Salt Lake City and spent his first 20 years traveling across the country pursuing his dream of being a professional baseball player — a previous lifetime lived before he ever even picked up a guitar, a bottle of whiskey, or a joint, for that matter.

Morgan Snow is an American country singer-songwriter living in the modern age but raised in a high desert city nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. He was never a train hopper, has never been in a motorcycle gang, and only has one tattoo, but it’s on his chest, so don’t ask to look at it. He’s had his Miranda Rights recited to him once, and "Yeah, a warning," so no handcuffs or nights left in a one-bed cell. Maybe more of a Jedi master than an outlaw. His life has played out like a twisted and morphed country song in an alternate universe that took a hit of acid instead of just going to bed. Unlike most of his country counterparts, however, he has spent a summer in prison. It should be clarified that Morgan left each afternoon after spending the day being one of the only people in the world who would sit face-to-face with the criminally insane and part of an even smaller group of people who would ask them daily, "How are you feeling?"

He uses these life lessons, hand-eye coordination, and sensibility to write songs reflecting his perceptions and experiences. His voice will sound familiar, yet haunting and powerful and with no comparison to pinpoint. It is the one thing you won’t forget. Some of his songs hurt, and some make you laugh at him or yourself, but what is shared from night to night after the show is a connection, a new relationship waiting to be revisited and rekindled time and time again.

Morgan Snow plays solo and is also the current lead singer-songwriter for the country-rock band Triggers & Slips.
