The Disgusting Brothers Band was born in 1979 as a fundraising arm of the nonprofit SPLORE (Special Populations Learning Outdoor Recreation and Education). SPLORE provided and supported adaptive outdoor sports opportunities for people with all types of disabilities. SPLORE flourished during the ensuing 40 years, due to the efforts of the band and the thousands of dedicated volunteers, providing services to over 100,000 clients.

The Disgusting Brothers Band's fundraising concerts had been noticed by other charitable causes, and they asked for the band's assistance. The Disgusting Brothers have played benefit concerts for scores of Utah and national worthy causes, numerous charities from "AIDS to Zoo", helping raise millions of dollars. The gentlemen of the band donating their time, talent, and treasure to these nonprofit causes are:

  • Sam Falsone - lead vocals
  • Curt Crowther - keyboards and vocals
  • Ray Thomason - lead, rhythm, and bass guitars and vocals
  • Steve “Thunder” Allred - lead, rhythm, and pedal steel guitars
  • Paul Grace - drums
  • Mike Riggle - saxophone
  • Phil Triolo - saxophone
  • Steve Mimnaugh - Rhythm and bass guitars and vocals

The band has offered loud, fast, and danceable vintage Rock and Roll music with the original members for 46 years. One highlight was the band opening for Chuck Berry at Deer Valley. The band has received accolades from Utah Governor Scott Matheson, who awarded them the Utah “Golden Key Award” for their work as Service Providers to those with disabilities. The Disgusting Brothers Band has headlined the Utah Arts Festival, played numerous concerts at Liberty Park and the Gallivan Center for Salt Lake City's Fourth of July festivities, and received many awards and recognitions over the past several decades.

The Disgusting Brothers are looking forward to rocking the JCC! A fun family event!
