About
Looking for a free family activity in Salt Lake City? Look no further than the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA)! Admission to the Museum is free every third Saturday of the month, and there is always an art-making activity for the whole family.
This month, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and RedButte Garden and Arboretum have teamed up to connect art and trees. Visit the UMFA for a free art-making activity and to explore the galleries. In the classroom, create your own treescape artwork and explore the different shapes, sizes, and colors of trees on view in the Museum.
Throughout the month of June, RedButte Garden visitors can take part in a Treescapes Tour through their digital guide and find seventeen Garden trees featured in artwork at the UMFA.
While exploring art at the Museum, ask yourself: did the artists depict trees realistically, or more fancifully? While at the Garden, ask yourself: what trees catch your attention? Why? Explore with an artist’s eye and create your own treescape artwork.
Please note that regular admissions fees apply at Red Butte Garden and Arboretum.
