About

Funding doesn’t find you, you have to go get it. And in today’s uncertain environment, non-profits can’t afford to leave money on the table.

In this hands-on workshop, two seasoned professionals will walk you through finding the right funding sources and crafting grants that make a compelling case.

You’ll leave knowing how to:
- Navigate grant basics, from terminology to timelines
- Evaluate and prioritize opportunities so you invest your time wisely
- Distinguish between federal/state and private foundation funding
- Apply real-world best practices to position your organization for success
- Tap into local, state, and foundation sources you may not know exist

Space is limited. Registration required (coming soon). BYO lunch.

Presented by

Josh Baron has lived in Kingston for 20 years and brings more than three decades of hands-on experience with grant writing, grant administration, and philanthropic leadership across higher education and the nonprofit sector. He has successfully written and managed multimillion-dollar grants from major funders including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the U. S. Department of Education, NSF, and EDUCAUSE, and has served as Principal Investigator on nationally recognized initiatives. As a former Senior Program Officer at the Gates Foundation, Josh oversaw a $30 million grant portfolio, giving him deep insight into how funders evaluate proposals, structure programs, and measure impact. This dual perspective—as both grant seeker and grant maker—uniquely positions him to help organizations understand not just how to write grants, but how to think strategically about funding and sustainability.
