About
Big Stone IV is putting on a free show to celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Wescott.
Central and Northern NY natives formed in NYC, playing many energetic shows at showcase nightclubs in Manhattan and releasing a full-length CD in the early 2000s.
The band's well-crafted melodic tunes feature:
- Matt Salisbruy: creative guitar riffs and tasty leads
- Dan Damon: heavy, driving, stylistic bass playing
- Bernie Blonski: tight rhythm making
Original singer and lyricist Darren Dixon is no longer with us, may he R. I. P.
The band's sound takes influences from heavy rock, sprinkling in a little soul, funk and pop. The members have also been heavily involved in many other projects over the years.
The 25th-anniversary show got its feet off the ground when the band reunited last year to work on some new original music that has just been released under the title "After a Score" by Big Stone IV.
Johnny Goodsongs and Hairshirt will open with some acoustic covers and original music.
