About
Gardeners looking to improve their harvest will learn the difference between soil and dirt, the different soil types, reasons for soil testing and its benefits, how to amend soil, how to garden in clay, and dealing with contaminated soil.
Bring a soil sample to the class so that you can get a free soil pH test! You can bring a few—one from your lawn, one from your garden, one from your ornamental beds, etc. We are paying for it!
This class is presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County Master Gardener John Martin. After retiring, John decided to give back to the community. In 2018 he completed the Master Gardener training and started volunteering. He has been gardening—growing flowers, herbs, and vegetables—for over 35 years.
