Weaving with Two Heddles on the Rigid Heddle Loom

Sat, May 16 · 1:00 PMto4:00 PM

Location

2080 Western Avenue · Guilderland, NY

About

Carla Braverman has designed this class to help you learn the techniques of 2-heddle weaving and plan your next project on two heddles. Adding additional shafts with 2 or more heddles will expand your weaving structures to unlimited numbers of 3-shaft and even 4-shaft drafts.

This class is a combination of theory and hands-on threading. We will explore how to create additional sheds with 2 heddles and weave a small diamond-pattern sample to prepare you for more complex patterns on your Rigid Heddle Loom.

Bring your own loom, partially warped, or practice on one of the 3 looms we will have partially warped. Whether you bring your own loom or use a provided one, we will work through threading the draft for a diamond pattern on the back and front heddle and then the weaving sequence. Warping instructions will be sent to participants prior to the workshop.

Class fee: $65
