An unusual combination of players gathers for a program centered around one of Debussy’s final works among other early 20th-century classics. The ensemble was formed by Bak—one of the leading violists of his generation and fresh off a tour with the legendary Takács Quartet—with Sadberry and Overton, two artists renowned for their multi-faceted careers.

Jordan Bak, viola

Award-winning Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak is praised for his radiant stage presence, dynamic interpretations, and power. He has received the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s ‘Alexandra Jupin’ Award, was a Young Classical Artist Trust (YCAT) ‘Robey Artist,’ and is a prizewinner in the Sphinx, Lionel Tertis, and Concert Artists Guild Competitions. For the 2025–2026 season Bak joins the Takács Quartet on a tour of Mozart viola quintets, makes concerto debuts with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Houston Symphony Orchestra, and will give the world premiere of Michael Frazier’s viola concerto, Los quetzales. His album Cantabile: Anthems for Viola (Delphian Records) features repertoire from Bax to contemporary composers. Bak serves as Assistant Professor of Viola at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and as an Ambassador for UK Music Masters.

Adam Sadberry, flute

Named to The Washington Post’s “23 for ’23,” flutist Adam W. Sadberry is a multifaceted artist—flutist, singer, educator, activist, improviser, music director, writer, and podcaster—known for blending artistry with social engagement. He won Concert Artists Guild’s 2021 Victor Elmaleh Competition and Ambassador Prize and has performed across North America in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. Adam is a dedicated educator and teaching artist and has been Music for Autism’s 2024 Spotlight Artist. With support from New Music USA and a consortium of flutists, he and composer Tyler Taylor created the flute concerto Waves of Voice, which premiered in flute-and-piano form in November 2025. He premiered Dameun Strange’s NOT RUNNING. (The Life of L. Alex Wilson) for flute and electronics at Merkin Hall in 2023. Represented by Concert Artists Guild and a DACAMERA Young Artist, Adam resides in Montgomery, TX. Outside of music, he can be found rollerskating, reading, listening to podcasts, watching anime, eating joyfully, and practicing the art of not doomscrolling.

Charles Overton, harp

Boston-based harpist Charles Overton bridges classical and jazz traditions. He has served as second and substitute harpist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops and has performed with ensembles including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. An active jazz collaborator and festival performer, Overton has appeared at Big Ears, Newport Jazz Festival, Montreux, and more. He serves on the faculty of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Yellow Barn, writes and arranges original music, and is a core member of projects such as Trio Oko and Wild Tapestry. He is currently working on new music as a follow-up to his debut album, Convergence.
