About

The 48th Annual Carrot Festival takes place on Sunday, October 11th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This community festival features a wide variety of activities, food, and entertainment for all ages.

Food includes brisket sandwiches, chicken shawarma, falafel salads, vegetarian and gluten-free options, potato pancakes, bakery treats, and the signature praline-filled carrot cake.

Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the day:
- 10:30-11:15: A Glezele Tey (klezmer, Yiddish folk songs)
- 11:45-12:45: R & K Jazz & Blues
- 1:15-2:15: Gina Coleman's Misty Blues Band
- 3:00-4:00: Alex Torres Latin Orchestra (in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month)

The Family Zone offers activities and information from local organizations including the Girl Scouts, Schenectady JCC, United Way, Niskayuna Fire Department, Goldfish Swim School, and more.

There is also a 'Stuff the Bus' initiative and a Community Service Tent with participation from a range of local service organizations.

A large selection of vendors and crafters sell jewelry, crafts, art, home goods, and local products. Applications for vendor space are available; interested vendors are encouraged to return their applications soon.

The festival is organized by Congregation Agudat Achim and is supported in part by the Schenectady County Legislature's Arts and Culture Grant.
