About
Join us Thursday, August 20, at 6 pm for an evening of acoustic Americana music featuring the Millstone Rounders. The performance takes place on the lawn outside the Tang. Bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and your own food and drink to make it a night! Kids can get craft kits from Tang Art Educators at every concert starting at 5:30.
The Millstone Rounders sing and play a unique blend of Americana, incorporating country, gospel, blues, trans-Atlantic fiddle breakdowns, and proto rock & roll; creating a sound that is both timelessly classic and thoroughly contemporary. They perform on acoustic instruments around a single microphone, capturing a natural sound that is both sonically compelling and visually interesting.
About Upbeat on the Roof
Upbeat on the Roof is the Tang Museum’s free, outdoor summer concert series on the grounds of the museum. The series highlights regional musical talent in an array of styles. Concerts take place on the lawn outside the Tang (we outgrew the roof!) every Thursday evening from July 9 through August 20 at 6 pm, and are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink.
Crafts on the Grass
Tang Art Educators offer crafts for kids at every concert, starting at 5:30. A different craft will be available each week. All projects are suitable for children aged 5 and up, with adult supervision recommended. Materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
