Please join us at West Mountain for our always popular Slush Cup & Cardboard Sled Derby on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Main Base (weather permitting).

Event Schedule:
- 1:30–2:30 PM — Slush Cup registration on-site (limited to the first 100 registrants) at the Front Desk in the Main Lodge. Registration is first come, first serve. Minors (under 18) will need a parent’s signature on the waiver. Fee: $20 (50% off if wearing a costume) PLUS a valid lift ticket or season pass.
- 2:45 PM — All Slush Cup competitors report to the start line, in bib order on the right side of the Face trail (when looking up the hill).
- 3:00 PM — Start of the Slush Cup competition. After elimination rounds, awards will be presented.
- 3:00–4:00 PM — Cardboard Sled Derby registration on-site at the Front Desk in the Main Lodge.
- 4:15 PM — All Cardboard Sled Derby participants meet at the entrance to the tubing park to receive instructions.
- 4:30 PM — Start of the Cardboard Sled Derby competition.

Cardboard Sled Derby fee: $10 per individual / $20 per team. There is not a discount if you come in costume for the sled derby, but costumes are fun for this event!

Please note: We love animals, but we kindly request they be left at home for this event. Outside alcohol and coolers are not permitted.

Slush Cup rules:
- Must be at least 6 years old or older and not afraid of cold, slushy water.
- All participants must sign a waiver. Minors (under 18) need a parent’s signature.
- All participants must fill out the registration form.
- Anyone under the influence will not be allowed to participate.
- A valid lift ticket or season pass is required in addition to the fee.

Cardboard Sled Derby design guidelines:
- Only regular cardboard, duct tape, paint, markers, and crayons can be used in construction.
- Sleds cannot be wrapped in plastic or shrink wrapped.
- No wood, glue, industrial adhesives, staples, rope, or wire will be permitted on a sled.
- Keep designs family friendly.
- All sleds must have a front, rear, bottom, and two sides.

Cardboard Sled Derby rules:
- You must be 6 years or older to participate.
- All participants must sign a waiver. Minors (under 18) need a parent’s signature.
- All participants must fill out the registration form.
- Maximum of 3 participants per sled.
- Riders are not allowed to use their hands to push their sled down the hill once they have crossed the start line.
- Push starts ONLY, NO running starts.
- Costumes are welcome and encouraged.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to wear helmets. Rental helmets are available in the rental shop.
- All sleds, parts, and participants must cross the finish line. If none of the teams make it across, the race winner will be based on the sled that made it the furthest distance over speed, provided the sled stays intact.
- Anyone under the influence will not be allowed to participate.

Cardboard Sled Derby details:
- The sleds and teams will use the lower tubing lanes to race. Start position will be determined before the race.
- All sleds will line up on the lower tubing lanes and will begin at the same time.
- More than one heat may be run depending on the number of sleds.
- The team/sled that makes it across the finish line first wins.

Prizes awarded for:
- Best Time (whomever makes it across the finish line first)
- Best in Show (best costume and overall sled presentation)
- Best Crash

The Cardboard Sled will be inspected by a West Mountain representative at the time of registration.
