The World Of Butterflies: Facts, Stats, Challenges and How We Can Help

Join Kenna for a keynote presentation all about butterflies.

Guests will receive a handout listing native host plants and the butterflies and moths they support in NY, along with recommendations for local nurseries and online seed distributors. Kenna will also provide everyone with a free packet of organically grown swamp milkweed from her garden. Milkweed is a beloved nectar plant of many insects and the host plant for the Monarch butterfly.

Meet the facilitator: Kenna Stronach is the founder of Root To Root Community, which seeks to bring people together through nature, knowledge and wellness. Kenna has over 19 years of experience in animal care, including wildlife rehabilitation, and is a passionate gardener. Her love of butterflies began in college during entomology class, and her field study focused on the importance of butterfly farms worldwide. She has been gardening with wildlife and butterflies in mind for 8 years and is an advocate for pesticide-free gardening. She aims to teach others how to share the land with our animal and insect friends in a sustainable and safe way.
