The wildfires, droughts, and floods this year have sharply elevated anxiety among many of us about our changing climate. This class seeks to address this crisis through strategies created by The Environmental Voter Project.
The Environmental Voter Project is a nonpartisan organization that identifies registered voters who are very concerned about climate but do not regularly vote. Phone calls, canvassing, digital ads and/or postcards target these voters with research based messages to get them to the ballot box. In this class, we will be writing postcards to voters in the state of Texas.
About your teacher:
Anne Conway is a retired school social worker who has been a member of Honest Weight since 1989. She is currently a staff member working at the Front End. She spends her spare time reading, gardening, and exercising. Anne has been passionate about the environment and the climate for many years and is a member of the Citizens Climate Lobby which advocates for climate friendly policies and legislation.
