Beginner Builder’s Bat House
Saturday, July 18th, 12-3pm
Instructor: Mariah Day
Bats play an essential role in our ecosystem. They serve as important pollinators and natural pest controllers, consuming large quantities of insects—including mosquitoes—during their nightly foraging. However, increasing human encroachment and habitat loss are contributing to declines in bat populations.
In this hands-on beginner building class, students will construct a bat house using both machine and hand tools. Participants will gain practical experience with the tools available in our workspace while learning fundamental building techniques. By the end of the class, each student will have created a functional bat house that supports and benefits our local ecosystem.
