Gathering Stories: Lesbian Experiences in the Capital Region
Location
About
Join us in uncovering library historical records and archiving the present-day stories of Lesbians in the Capital Region.
We will browse Upper Hudson Library System materials related to the lives, contributions, and stories of Lesbians in the Capital Region, and give participants the opportunity to capture submissions for a digital archive of Lesbians currently living in this area. Submissions can be in any format: written, audio, photo, or any other creative ideas.
Materials provided:
- Writing materials
- Polaroid cameras
- Audio recording equipment
- Dry art materials
The archives will be held by The Hub for Lesbian Sex and Self Care. If you would like to contribute your story but cannot attend the event, you may submit your story to The Hub for Lesbian Sex and Self Care.
Note: Anthony Opalka is the current official historian of the city of Albany. He will be available to answer questions about Albany's history and assist with research questions in addition to the special event.
