About
Always wondered what the NYS Division for Historic Preservation (DHP) does inside the buildings on Peebles Island State Park? Well, now is your chance to find out! This first Open House in 15 years will include behind-the-scenes tours, exhibits, demonstrations, and presentations highlighting DHP’s work to promote and protect New York State history through state historic sites and in communities across the state.
Highlights include access to object conservation labs, hands-on activities, special talks, guided tours of the historic factory complex, the Revisit the Revolution traveling exhibition, and more.
The three-day event will be held October 15, 16, and 17, from 9am–3pm each day. It is free and open to the public; no registration is necessary.
Parking will be available but may become limited. Carpooling is encouraged. Peebles Island is located on the Empire State Trail, so pedestrian and bicycle travel is encouraged.
