Grab Bag (Goes To College!)

Sat, Aug 8 · 11:00 AMto3:00 PM

Location

99 Clinton Street · Schenectady, NY

About

Grab Bag is back and it's graduating! Prepare for the new semester, college, or your first apartment with fresh style—and cool housewares.

SCPL welcomes teens and young adults ages 14-21 to "shop" their community members' closets and reduce textile and electronic waste.

  • Browse a free, curated collection of gender-inclusive and size-expansive clothes, shoes, and accessories.
  • Find gently-used small electronics, wall art, mirrors, and more.

Find an article of clothing that's almost perfect? Visit Repair Cafe's mending station and learn how to make simple sewing repairs or add embellishments. Grab a mending kit and local recycling resources to take home.

We'll also have local partner MoonCatcher Project on-site to educate attendees about period waste and menstrual product options, and representatives from A Big Gay Market with info about getting involved with the Queer Creative Futures mentorship program!

Registration strongly encouraged! Your registration enters you into raffle prize drawings for free books, an Out of Print t-shirt, and a gift card to Bring On the Spectrum's community space in Latham.
