Felt Your Own Cloud

Have you ever wanted to touch a cloud? Join local artist Jess Stapf for a beginner-level needle felting workshop. In this 2-hour class, you’ll be introduced to the fibers and tools used to make a needle-felted cloud, using the same process the artist uses in her own work.

You’ll work off a foam base to form your cloud, allowing you to work at a bigger scale than in most needle felting. Several color palettes will be available to experiment with. You’ll learn wool-sculpting techniques to build up a rough shape, create density in the wool, define shapes, and add swirls. Your cloud can be realistic or stylized. No prior felting experience is needed. Each student will take home a felted cloud that can be held in your hands.
