Take a trip through the darker side of Troy’s history on a lantern lit tour that explores true stories of murder, disasters, and every manner of mayhem that graced the city’s streets. Hear tales of the Veiled Murderess and Hazel Drew’s unsolved murder, learn the escapades of infamous gangster Jack "Legs" Diamond, see sites of the draft riots, and more on a tour through downtown.

Ticket rates:
- $25 per person
- $10 per student or educator (with valid ID)
- If you are using a Museum Pass from the library, please register in advance and choose the "Library Museum Pass" ticket option for your free ticket; you will need to present the Museum Pass at the time of the tour.
Pre-registration for a tour is strongly encouraged.
Please note:
- Recommended for ages 12 and up.
- The tour is 90 minutes and covers 1.5 miles through downtown Troy on occasionally uneven sidewalk terrain. Walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire are advised.
- Guests should be comfortable walking and potentially standing for extended periods of time.
- HCM strongly values accessibility and will do its best to provide accommodations. Please let museum staff know either ahead of time or at any point during the tour if accommodations are required for you or your party.
- The tour will leave and end at the Hart Cluett Museum, 57 Second Street, Troy, NY. Limited street parking is available.
- The Hart Cluett Museum provides all walking tour participants with headsets, allowing each visitor to listen to the tour guide at their preferred volume. You may use or bring your own earpieces/earbuds; single-use earpieces will also be provided.
