About

Have you ever wanted to try birding? Are you curious about the birds you see flying around in your backyard? In this presentation, Teresa Murphy, President of the Audubon Society of the Capital Region, will teach you everything you need to get started.

Topics covered:
- Where to see birds
- Best time of day to see them
- How to identify birds based on time of year, colors, markings, and behavior
- How to properly use binoculars for viewing birds

Teresa has served as President of the Audubon Society of the Capital Region for six years and has been a Cornell Master Gardener of Rensselaer County for 15 years. She lives in Rensselaer and has a large perennial garden that attracts many birds and butterflies, which she loves to photograph.

She created and maintains the gardens at her church, St. Michael the Archangel, with help from other women parishioners. Teresa and her husband have two rescue Shih Tzus and both like to bike, kayak, go to the gym, and travel.
