This ensemble, comprised of some of the top young artists in the country, prides itself on performing mixed chamber music masterworks alongside their own compelling transcriptions of some of the most beloved works in the repertoire. This time, they offer their unique version of Ravel’s homage to the waltz.

ensemble132 is an American collective of soloists and chamber musicians that reimagines the chamber music landscape through artist-crafted arrangements and genre-defying programs. At e132 events audiences can expect unique programming including transcriptions, chamber ballets, and interactive workshops where artists guide listeners through the arranging process.

Artists

Julian Rhee, violin
Winner of the coveted 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant, Korean-American violinist Julian Rhee has been recognized for his refinement, beauty of sound, and "the kind of poise and showmanship that thrills audiences" (The Strad).

Zhanbo Zheng, viola
Known for his "beautiful control, tremendous energy and thoughtful musicality" (Violinist) and "tone projected miraculously" (Strings), violist Zhanbo Zheng was the first Chinese to win the Primrose International Viola Competition.

Zachary Mowitz, cello
A native of Princeton, NJ, cellist Zachary Mowitz made his solo debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in July 2018 as winner of the Greenfield Competition. He is Artistic Director of ensemble132 and Nodality Music.

Sahun Sam Hong, piano
Praised as an "artist of enormous prowess" (Verbier Festival Newsletter) with a "wide range of rich colors" (San Diego Story), American pianist Sahun Sam Hong brings his distinctly magnetic tone and artistic vision to recital, chamber, and concerto stages worldwide.
