Tas Cru – 11/6

Tas Cru is a dedicated blues songwriter who writes, shapes, twists, and reimagines the genre with a personal signature. With seven albums released over twelve years, the instrumental single “Déjà Blu” released in 2025, and his new record, “Might Give Out,” released this July, this Central New York native continues to carve out his own path in contemporary blues and roots music.

Tas Cru performs with a six-piece band, his acoustic duo Eclipse, or solo on acoustic, electric, resonator, or cigar-box guitar, sometimes adding harmonica. Above all, he is a songwriter, with more than 150 original songs. He believes lyrics should not serve merely as a vehicle to get the listener to the guitar solo. Bruce Iglauer, head of Alligator Records, calls him a true songwriter, and Downbeat magazine describes him as a unique artist who crafts magical hooks through fresh melodies and finely honed lyrics.

Tas Cru moves forward with his own words, stories, and humor—sometimes tender, often biting. His songs can feel familiar from the first listen, while remaining subtle, precise, and never mundane. He plays guitar like a storyteller: his riffs are phrases, his solos are asides, and his arrangements are dialogues between instruments.

The 443 is an intimate listening room with table service and seating for 75 people. Green squares and circles on the floor plan indicate bar-height tables; orange squares indicate regular-height tables.

• Most seats are sold as “Tables for Two,” meaning each ticket admits two people.
