Sawyer Fredericks – 11/21

Americana singer-songwriter Sawyer Fredericks, from a farm in central New York, began playing farmers’ markets, open mics, and New York venues at age 13. With his deep, beyond-his-years lyrics and melodies, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances, Sawyer seemed an unlikely match for reality TV, but he won over audiences and won season 8 of NBC’s The Voice.

Fredericks released his major-label debut, A Good Storm, with Republic Records, followed by Hide Your Ghost (2018), which he fully wrote and produced. His fourth album, Flowers For You, came out in May 2020. Two songs from the album won awards at the 18th annual Independent Music Awards: “Born” in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category and “Amen” the Vox Pop award in the Social Action Song category.

In January 2021, Sawyer released his rendition of “What A Wonderful World” with an animated video. His band and The Accidentals’ Sav Buist and Katie Larson joined him on The Golden Tree EP, released in March 2023.

In spring 2024, Sawyer and his band returned to Dreamland in Woodstock to record No Need To Wonder. The environmentally themed album was released on Earth Day, April 22, 2025. On August 23, he released “Burn It Down,” a collaborative single with fellow upstate New York artist Cassandra Kubinski. The song was nominated for an Eddie Award for Record of the Year.
