The depths of the Texas blues tradition with the wit of a poet. She hits the stage with an unmatched presence.

She grew up the child of a singer in a band and began playing her mother’s vintage Martin guitar as a child. By her midteens she was landing gigs at Fitzgerald’s at age 15. Along with guitar she plays trumpet, accordion, piano, mandolin and lap steel, and she has a notable ability to whistle on key.

Carolyn moved from Houston to Austin, spent time living van-full, and released a series of records including Alcohol & Salvation (2001), Bloodless Revolution (2003), Miss Understood (2008), Peace Meal (2011), Live Texas Trio (2015) and Moon Goes Missing (2017).

She’s recorded and played with many artists and projects, appeared on Austin City Limits (Season 35), contributed songs for charity, and has toured extensively in the US, Europe, South America and Japan.

Carolyn recently joined John Mayall’s Band as his guitarist. She’s been touring for over 25 years and ain’t done yet. Come and see it at a show! (seriously, she’s perpetually on tour.)

• The 443 is an intimate listening room with table service that seats 75 people.
• The green squares/circles on the floor plan are bar-height tables; the orange squares are regular-height tables.
• Most seats are sold as "Tables for Two" — the ticket admits TWO people.
• A limited number of single seats are available; single attendees may share a table with other single attendees.
• Multiple tickets purchased under the same name will be seated together (up to 6 people).
• If anyone in your party needs special seating arrangements (walker, cane, service animal, wheelchair, low table requirement, or to be seated with another party), email the venue after you place your order.
• All tickets are WILL CALL — no need to print anything, give your name at the door.
