On the Lash – 8/12

On The Lash formed in early 2022, with their very first shows being a tour through PA and DE. Since then, OTL has performed at festivals and concert venues across the US and has shared their background in the genre through educational workshops. Notable festivals include KVMR Celtic Fest (Grass Valley, CA); Yachats Celtic Fest (Yachats, OR); Longs Peak Highland Fest (Estes Park, CO); Celtic Classic (Bethlehem, PA); and the Michigan Irish Music Festival (Muskegon, MI). They have shared the stage with artists such as Jeremy Kittel, Talisk, Alasdair Fraser, and Natalie Hass, and opened for Altan within their first year of performing.

All graduates of Western Michigan University’s music program, each member of On The Lash brings a complementary background in folk and classical styles.

• Elizabeth June (flute/vocals) grew up learning classical flute and playing in a large family bluegrass band (dad on banjo, mom on upright bass, 10 siblings). She earned a master’s degree in flute performance from the University of Michigan and pursues flute, voice, and folk music with OTL.

• Joel Tyrone Myers (mandolin) started on fiddle playing with the Chelsea House Orchestra, developed a love for Irish music, and writes and arranges much of OTL’s music.

• John Robey (fiddle/stomp) began classical violin at seven and moved into modern styles and improvisation around age fourteen in his church’s worship band, which led him toward a career in Celtic music.

• Patrick Hartson (guitar/bass) started on cello (classically and in fiddle club), earned advanced degrees in cello performance from DePaul University, and later picked up guitar, playing in genres from metal to rock and returning to Celtic roots.

- The 443 is an intimate listening room with table service that seats 75 people.
- The green squares/circles on the floor plan are bar-height tables; the orange squares are regular-height tables.
- Most seats are sold as “Tables for Two” — each ticket admits TWO people.
- A limited number of single seats are available; single attendees may be sharing a table with other single attendees.
- Multiple tickets purchased under the same name will automatically be seated together (up to 6 people).
- Requesting a specific table is a perk reserved for VIP Patron members.
