Amir Halfon received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Manhattan School of Music many moons ago, then became a freelance musician in New York City, performing and recording with musicians across genres, from jazz and Latin to Middle Eastern and Balkan music. In parallel, he built a career in technology, working with leading firms. He moved to the Hudson Valley in 2021 and has since renewed his commitment to music. He is grateful to share the stage with such high-caliber musicians as part of his quintet.
Ron Horton is an integral part of New York’s jazz scene, both as an instrumentalist and as a composer and arranger. He has had long musical associations with saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and pianist Andrew Hill, and has performed and recorded as a sideman with Lee Konitz, Will Holshouser, Rez Abbasi, Phillip Johnston, Andy Laster, Mick Rossi, Matt Wilson, Bill Gerhardt, Bill Mays, Peggy Stern, Allan Chase, Andy Biskin, Ted Nash, Jon Gordon, John McKenna, Walter Thompson, Diana Perez, Billy Newman, Mario Pavone, Tina Marsh, Maryanne DeProphetis, Landon Knoblock, Sam Bardfeld, Maria Guida, Abigail Riccards, Angie Sanchez, Kris Davis, Darcy James Argue, and many others.
Robert Kopec is an acoustic and electric bassist, composer, and educator from New York’s Hudson Valley. He began his musical journey at age 6 and played his first professional gigs in his early teens. His wide-ranging musical interests have made him a versatile, in-demand sideman and an eclectic leader. He has played with Eddie Bert, Hugh Brodie, Lew Soloff, Adam Nussbaum, Hal Galper, and Kenny Werner.
Tim Regusis is a Hudson Valley-based pianist who has been active in the jazz scene of the New York City region, as well as in R&B, Latin, and various world music styles. He has played or recorded with Patti Austin, Ruben Blades, David Byrne, Celia Cruz, Chuck Mangione, Johnny Pacheco, Daniel Ponce, Rick Margitza, Cindy Blackman, Jeff Williams, Akira Ohmori, Najee, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Jonathan Butler, Ofra Haza, and others.
Wayne Tice is a woodwind artist, educator, and composer who performs a range of musical styles. He is a founding member of the 17-piece Analog Jazz Orchestra, which has performed with Joe Lovano, Joe Fiedler, and Kenny Rampton. He also performs with his own group, Midcentury Modern Quartet, and with Professor Louie and the Chromatix, Uncle Shoehorn’s Big Easy, and local musicians including Robert Kopec, Neil ‘Nail’ Alexander, Mark Dziuba, Dean Sharp, and David Heckendorn.
