Queer Classics Book Club: “Orlando” by Virginia Woolf
Location
About
Our next selection for the Unicorn Bar’s Queer Classics Book Club is Orlando by Virginia Woolf! We’ll gather to discuss it at the Unicorn on Thursday, June 4th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Published in 1928, Orlando tells the story of a time-traveling, gender-bending 16th-century nobleman turned noblewoman who’s based on Woolf’s lover, Vita Sackville-West.
Tilda Swinton, star of the 1992 film version of Orlando, said of the novel, "I read this book and believed it was a hallucinogenic, interactive biography of my own life and future." Join us to discuss this century-old classic of queer literature!
