Miller and The Other Sinners lineup: David Michael Miller (vocals & guitars), Steve Davis (keys, organ, key bass, vocals), Isaiah Griffin (drums & percussion), Dalton Sharp (saxophone), and Paul Gaspar (trumpet).

The band tracked their latest full-length album in a studio Miller built in his mid-1800s farmhouse during the COVID shutdown. "Thieves In The Breadline" is described as an amazing step in defining the band's last 4+ years of work together, finding their sound and capturing their live chemistry. Inspired by the Marcus King record produced by Warren Haynes, the record aims for a fat warm sound with a modern presence. Miller engineered, arranged, produced, mixed, and mastered the project as a labor of love and passion.

The songs address current and historic social struggles while also celebrating possibilities for the future. Highlights mentioned include the title track "Thieves In The Breadline" (a 70s-influenced soul tune about economic hardship), "Uneven" (a heavy blues/rock ballad about advantages and disadvantages of marginalized communities), "Street Child", and "Only 7" (a nod to the tragic shooting of Jacob Blake). Other songs celebrate life and music, such as "Better Times, Better Days", "Rhythm Don’t Mind", and "Low Down".

Two songs are inspired by the late Darick Campbell of The Campbell Brothers: the reggae-esque "Black Water Fishin" (inspired by a conversation before a gig) and the tribute "Teach Me To Slide", which features Sonny Landreth, Terrell King, and Jay Moynihan.

Founded and led by Miller, who worked with The Campbell Brothers to release his first two albums, Miller and The Other Sinners grew from his passion for collaboration and American Roots Music. The project has toured for the last 9 years as an independent act, playing over 1,300 shows at festivals (Borderland, Telluride, Flagstaff Blues and Brews, Fairport), backyard house concerts, dive bars, and more — from solo performances up to a 10-piece band.
