The Tang Museum offers free traveling programs to public libraries. Hands-on art projects provide opportunities for teaching, learning, and understanding issues raised by Tang exhibitions, while offering children the chance to express their creativity in fun and inspiring ways.
We provide all materials. Programs are designed for children 5+.
Spectacular Stratum — The Art of Layering
This project is inspired by the artwork of Joan Snyder, a mixed media painter, and Paul Lewing, a landscape painter. Participants will be able to:
- create sand art landscapes using glass jars and colorful sand
- make mixed-media clay collages using beans, seeds, and beads
