The Pierogi 5k

The Pierogi 5k is a timed 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) running event open to participants of all abilities, including walkers, casual joggers, avid runners, people with strollers, and wheelchair users. It takes place rain, shine, or snow. Well-behaved, leashed dogs who enjoy crowds are welcome.

Schedule:
- Check-in opens at 11am
- 5k race starts at 12pm
- Youth events begin at 1pm
- Awards immediately following the race
Registration:
- $15 per individual participant in advance
- $20 per individual participant day-of (cash only)
- Teams can register for $50
- Registration is required for all participants
- Day-of registration is available from 11–11:30am at the Registration Desk in the pavilion
- Participants are asked to bring a canned or dry food product to donate to Schenectady City Mission
Amenities:
- Trophies and free pierogi for the top male and female finishers in each age category
- Food, including pierogi and other foods, served during and after the race
- Convenient parking and restroom facilities available at Central Park
Notes:
- No bikes, skateboards, scooters, or rollerblades are permitted
- Participants with strollers or dogs are asked to start toward the back and keep to the side while running
