ICFS presents Allegro Non Troppo (1976)

In this gleeful sendup of Disney's "Fantasia," an enterprising producer believes he has hit upon a novel winning concept: a program of original animated shorts set to classical music. Undeterred by warnings that this has already been done by some American named 'Prisney' or 'Grisney,' he rallies a bullish conductor, an orchestra of geriatric women, and an animator he keeps locked up in a dungeon.

What could go wrong? "Allegro Non Troppo" blends live-action slapstick with cheeky animation for a film as joyful and raunchy as it is thoughtful and cutting.

Italian with English subtitles. Not rated, but not appropriate for children. 75 minutes.
