Stranger Than Fiction Roundtable: Dyson Spheres

A new monthly discussion group where we learn about strange and fascinating ideas in the world of science!

This month we’ll be reading about the search for Dyson Spheres, megastructures that could be constructed by advanced civilizations to harness the radiation energy of their host stars. We will discuss a 2024 peer reviewed paper from the Royal Astronomical Society about the search for partial Dyson spheres based on analyzing optical and infrared observations from Gaia, 2MASS, and WISE.
