About

Funky, Soulful... Fresh

2026 Eddies Award Winner for RnB/Soul/Funk Artist of the Year

Tops of Trees are an original Rock & Soul ensemble from Saratoga Springs, New York, quickly making a name for themselves in the Capital Region. With a sound built on a high-octane rhythm section, classic B-3 organ, blistering vocals, and an unshakeable horn section, the band continues to thrill audiences with uplifting, energetic performances and a modern interpretation of soulful music steeped in early R&B, funk, and blues.

Tops of Trees broke onto the scene performing at the first Belmont on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, opening for Blues Traveler. Since then, they have won the 2026 Eddies Award for RnB/Soul/Funk Artist of the Year in the Capital Region and been featured regularly on WEXT and WEQX following the release of their highly acclaimed first full-length album, "Do Something." Their songwriting resonated with listeners, securing two songs in the top ten on WEXT’s local songs of the year list.

Needless to say, Tops of Trees is extremely grateful for the support of the local community. This event at Universal Preservation Hall is a small step toward giving back. In 2026, the band received a grant from the Saratoga Arts Community Regrant Program to involve high school students from Saratoga County in a professional recording experience. The vision grew into a live benefit concert, where students from the high school jazz band and choral singers could gain real-world experience preparing for a live event on the stage of UPH. The hope is that this experience will inspire the students to pursue their dreams as musicians and bring the community together to support live original music.
