Saturday May 9, Upstate New York’s own Eastbound Jesus returns to Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs to celebrate their new full-length album, Hard To Get To Heaven, recorded in the band’s barn practice space as the winter of 2025 settled over rural Washington County.
Produced by the band alongside collaborator Jimi Woodul, the album captures the raw chemistry that has defined Eastbound Jesus’s sound for years, carrying the group into a second decade of making music together. The sessions embrace the grit and energy of the band’s Northern Rock style. The resulting record continues the band’s blend of Americana storytelling, bluegrass instrumentation, and road-tested rock and roll.
By recording in their regular weekly practice space, the band was able to slow down and experiment, creating performances that feel both intimate and expansive. Hard To Get To Heaven showcases Eastbound Jesus’s signature high-energy roots sound while exploring deep and reflective songwriting—marking some of the band’s most thoughtful work to date.

Forest Station, a Vermont-based bluegrass group, was born in the Rocky Mountains and realized in the Greens. Their music is a captivating blend of high energy, tight pockets, and just enough improvisational grease that delivers a unique twist on traditional bluegrass sound.
Guitarist Eli Martell-Crawford and mandolinist Alex Skowron began their partnership in Bozeman, Montana. After moving east to Vermont and meeting banjo player Thomas Bryce, they began formulating ideas and a blueprint for an ideal bluegrass band. Recently, bassist Rob Strasenburgh came on board, and fiddle player Silas Hamilton often joins them on stage.
The musicians of Forest Station come from multi-genre backgrounds, and the band can effortlessly drop into cavernous improvisational moments while also meeting blistering bluegrass standards. After their first album, Earth Tones, was released in 2024, they played festivals throughout New England and have performed with national acts as they grow their fan base.
