Alexis P. Suter Band

If you were at our free Sing in the Streets Festival in May, you already know what the Alexis P. Suter Band can do. They closed out the festival with a powerhouse performance that absolutely blew us away. Now they're coming back to Caffè Lena, and we couldn't be more excited!

With a voice that can shake the rafters one moment and break your heart the next, Alexis P. Suter is a force of nature. Raised in Brooklyn in a musically gifted family, she brings a remarkable combination of blues, soul, gospel, and roots music to the stage. Elmore Magazine described her extraordinary voice as a “molasses contralto,” but even that doesn't quite prepare you for the experience of hearing her live.

Backed by her longtime band—Ray Grappone on drums, Jimmy Bennett on guitar, Daniel Weiss on keyboards, Peter Bennett on bass, and Vicki Bell on vocals and percussion—Suter delivers music that is as soulful and emotionally powerful as it is electrifying. From driving, funk-infused blues and rollicking roots numbers to deeply moving ballads, this is a band that knows how to bring an audience to its feet and then bring the room to complete silence.

Together for nearly two decades, the Alexis P. Suter Band has built a devoted following across the U.S. and Europe, earning a reputation for exceptional musicianship, unforgettable performances, and a genuine connection with audiences. Their music is rooted in tradition but never confined by it, moving freely between blues, soul, gospel, and Americana.

We loved having them close out Sing in the Streets, and we can't wait to welcome them back—this time for an up-close performance in our listening room. If you saw them in May, you know why we're so excited. If you missed them, here's your chance to find out.
