About

Join the Irish American Heritage Museum on September 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM for an evening of tunes from Seamus Noonan, Ellie Egan, and Richard Hearn as IAHM kicks off its 2026–2027 Trad/Folk Performance Series. This event follows the Flanagan Theater's nomination for the 2026 Thomas Edison Music and Hall of Fame 'Best Alternative Venue' award. If you haven't been for the remarkable, intimate performances at IAHM — now is the time!!

  • Seamus Noonan (flute/concertina): An accomplished Irish traditional flute and concertina player from the Boston area. Seamus learned his music from his father, Jimmy Noonan. He was a finalist in the 2024 Seán Ó' Riada competition and placed at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann senior flute competition. His playing reflects influences from Seamus Tansey, John McKenna, and Eddie Moloney.
  • Ellie Egan (fiddle): A fiddle player from Belclare, County Galway, whose music is rooted in the East Galway tradition. Ellie is influenced by Aggie Whyte and the Ballinakill Traditional Dance players. She holds a BA and a Bachelor of Music from University College Cork, received the Mary V. Harte Memorial Prize in 2023, and was awarded a 2026 Creative Individuals Grant from the Mass Cultural Council.
  • Richard Hearn (trichordo bouzouki/guitar): A seasoned accompanist based in Baltimore who began with Irish traditional music while living in Europe and toured internationally with Irish and Scottish projects before returning to the U.S. He regularly tours with his trio the East Coasters, who played a sold-out show at IAHM's Flanagan Theater in 2025. Richard has accompanied musicians including Billy and Sean McComiskey, Steph Geremia, Sarah Collins, and Kate Knudsvig. Most recently he accompanied tenor banjo performers at the 2026 Catskills Irish Arts Week special tribute concert honoring Michael J. Flanagan and the Famous Flanagan Brothers.
