DCxPC Live presents Christy Costello live at Unicorn Bar in Kingston on Thursday, May 14.

Christy Costello is a songwriter whose music blends indie folk, punk spirit, and deeply personal storytelling. Known for powerful vocals and emotionally direct songs, her performances move effortlessly between intimate and explosive, pulling audiences into every lyric. She is a mover and a shaker in the Twin Cities music scene — songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, disc jockey, talent buyer, promoter, mother, and yogi. Hailing from the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota, her music draws on the ferocity and rawness of nature, the energy of a house show, and the adrenaline of an all-night downtown disco. Her songwriting has been showcased in previous bands like Pink Mink and Ouija Radio, and through stage performances with Monica LaPlante, Butchers Union, The Von Bondies, and Extraterrestrials. This is Christy's turn to step to the front.

Joining the bill are two local acts:

• Modern Natives: They’ve toured cross-country from Alaska to Florida and across Canada multiple times — living out of an old camper with their three cats and dog along for the ride. Now based in New York’s Hudson Valley, Modern Natives brings a road-worn, genre-blending sound shaped by years of touring.

• Cellmate: A Kingston project comprised of Maria Alvarez and Steven Markota, backed by drummer Chris Gartmann and guitarist Jacob Kolbinski. Influenced by garage rock energy, electronic textures, and punk ethos.
