Mean Girls is a rock musical based on the 2004 film by Mark Waters, written by Tina Fey and inspired by Rosalind Wiseman’s 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes.

The musical follows Cady Heron, a teenager who transfers to a public high school after being homeschooled her whole life in Africa. She befriends outsiders Janis Sarkisian and Damian Hubbard, who persuade her to infiltrate the “Plastics”: wealthy but insecure Gretchen Wieners, sweet but dimwitted Karen Smith, and “queen bee” Regina George.

Directed by Randi Kiersnowski and Risa Petrone, with music direction by Holden Maiorana and choreography by Risa Petrone.

Recommended for ages 12+.

Content warning: Mean Girls contains mature content and explores sensitive topics such as bullying, cyberbullying, peer pressure, strong language, substance use, teen sexuality, and body image and weight insensitivity.

Sensory warning: This production may utilize projections, haze, and strobe.

Run time: Approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, plus a 15-minute intermission.
