Saratoga’s haunted Halloween tradition returns on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The Saratoga Springs History Museum is opening the doors of the historic Canfield Casino for an evening of ghosts, history, mystery, and stories from the other side. 🕯️
As darkness settles over Congress Park, step inside one of Saratoga Springs’ most legendary buildings and discover a different side of its history. The Canfield Casino has stood at the center of Saratoga life for generations — its rooms have witnessed glamour, fortunes, scandals, celebrations, and tragedies. According to some, not everyone who entered the Casino has entirely left.
The Canfield Casino has earned a paranormal reputation over the years. The building was featured on SYFY’s Ghost Hunters and was named the 4th Most Terrifying Place in America by the Travel Channel. Visitors, staff members, paranormal investigators, and others have shared stories of unusual experiences — from unexplained sounds and strange sensations to encounters that are harder to explain.
During this special Halloween tour, guides will take you through the historic rooms and corridors of the Canfield Casino while sharing true stories, reported hauntings, paranormal investigations, and unexplained happenings connected to the building. Hear about the people who once occupied these rooms, learn the history behind some of the Museum’s artifacts, and see how more than a century of Saratoga history has given rise to some chilling tales.
