About

This is an intermediate-level evening class series designed as a follow-up to our Foundations of Woodworking: Hand Tools and Foundations of Woodworking: Machine Tools classes. These prerequisites give you basic skills in handling the tools that will be used in this class. Students with equivalent shop experience are also encouraged to apply.

In this evening class series, you will be making a beautiful box ideal for a graduation or birthday present. Using a mix of both power and hand woodworking tools, the student will learn to lay out box joinery, get a taste of using the router and hand planes, and learn how to make a lid fit snug to the box.

Skills and tasks include:
- Laying out box joinery
- Using the router
- Using hand planes
- Making a lid fit snug to the box
- Applying a primary sealing finish coat (a finish coat will be applied as time permits)

Join us for a skill-building class and leave with a beautiful finished project.
