About
Appropriate for high school students.
Through the Fire is a one-man show based on Victor Almanzar’s life. After a near-death experience in a Queens, NY hospital during the peak of the Covid pandemic, his life flashes before his eyes: his childhood in the Dominican Republic, moving to NYC as a youngster, gang and drug life, identity struggles, love, and serving in Kosovo and Iraq after joining the U.S. Marine Corps. Developed at the Labyrinth Theatre Company by Actors Studio members Victor Almanzar and Elizabeth Canavan, the show is driven by Almanzar’s original Hip-Hop music and follows his journey of survival and self-forgiveness.
