We are excited to announce the formation of the Rosendale Theatre Cinema Club. The club is the brainchild of two long time film buffs, Jerry Wintrob and Marc Greene. Our idea is for it to be a wide mix of different film genres, directors and all sorts of eclectic cinematic experiences.
Our initial showing will be the Wizard of Oz on Sunday May 17th at 2PM. As we have all seen it so many times, this version will be an audience participation sing along. There will be captions on the screen for us to follow along and belt out our favorite songs. We are encouraging participants to come in costume of your favorite Wizard of Oz character. We will have a contest after the film to honor the best outfit.
We hope you will bring your children as well. Should be just grand fun.
Our plan is for this to be a monthly showing. Our next film will be Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein on Sunday June 14th. Truly one of the most hilarious films ever made.
We hope to see you all then!!
For those of you who have ideas for future films you would like us to show, please send an email to jerry@rosendaletheatre.org and we will consider your requests!
The Rosendale Theatre’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
