Old Time String Band Ensemble

TEMPO Lounge — Mondays 6:00-7:00pm: April 13, 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18, 25; June 1.

This is an ensemble class in an acoustic jam format crafted for beginner/intermediate players looking for experience with old time music ensemble playing.

Dust off that guitar, grab that jug, or simply warm up them vocal cords and join us for a good 'ole string jam!

The Old Time String Band is an ensemble that meets at TEMPO in Kingston to share songs from the age of music when recording was done on a wax cylinder or not at all. Prior to each session we will discuss a few tunes to play, post the chords and melodies on our website, and then arrange and play them down at the session. We will pull from Old Time, Folk, Bluegrass, and Irish musical traditions.

Presented by Community Music Space, led by Max Rainwater.

$25 per session, drop in or pre-register for 8 week class.

Open to everyone 16+ years old and up.

Class is held in TEMPO Lounge. Enter the building through the side door on Hunter St.
