The 48th Annual Carrot Festival takes place on October 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This community event offers activities for all ages.
Food offerings include:
- Brisket sandwiches
- Chicken schawarma
- Falafel salad
- Portobella mushroom sandwiches
- Potato pancakes
- Potato knish
- Israeli salad
- Hummus
- Hot dogs
- Hamburgers
- A variety of specialty carrot cakes and cookies, including gluten-free and vegan options
The festival features entertainment, a Family Zone with kids’ activities, and a "Stuff the Bus" community service initiative. Local vendors and crafters will be present with items such as jewelry, kitchen gadgets, pottery, cosmetics, floral designs, and clothing. A community service tent will showcase local non-profit organizations and provide information on volunteer opportunities in partnership with The United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
Attendees can expect live music and performances by Klezmer bands, Israeli dancers, and local groups such as the Schenectady Light Opera Company, as well as special concerts by regional bands. There will also be fresh produce from the Carrot Barn, a pet adoption clinic, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
